The culture of Indians

There were about 400 tribes in the North America. All of them were talking different languages and didn't have written language. However in the beginning of 19th century one of leaders made the alphabet of the language of his tribe and even started to publish the newspaper in the language of his tribe.

The steppe tribes used the icon writing. There were also some jargons that formed between several tribes. And there was even the trade language used to exchange goods between tribes.

Some tribes used the language of gestures and the original body language. Tribes used different objects for the language of gestures using mirrors, plume, etc.

Agriculture and other industries depended on the climate and the weather of the territory they occupied and was characterised by the level of their development. Indians were fond of hunting, collecting berries and fruits. And some tribes even developed agriculture planting crops. In the Northern parts of the continent tribes hunted the dear and the maritime creatures.

With the appearance of Europeans on the continent, Indians got to know what the gun and the horses were. Such contribution made the buffalo hunting easier. Indians cultivated the agricultural plants such as maize, beans, potatoes, tomatoes and other plants. Pemmican was the favourite food for Indians and only women had the right to cook it.

Indians developed their culture gradually, and the European culture simply interfered in the development of Indians.
